How I work

I work integratively, meaning I combine a range of different therapeutic techniques and models, depending on each unique client. This might include looking at your past, present and future. I take a trauma-informed approach, prioritising safety.

Our mind and body aren't separate; they're one interconnected system, and so much of how we experience life happens through the body, not just the mind. Because of this, I sometimes draw on somatic approaches (such as movement or breathwork) alongside our talking work, to help access feelings or experiences that are hard to put into words. This is always optional, and always in support of the wider work. I'm also interested in how modern neuroscience is shaping our understanding of therapy, and how it can help clients make sense of their own experiences.

Our lives are shaped by relationship: with each other, the wider systems we live within, and the natural world around us. My approach reflects this, with a strong focus on the therapeutic relationship between us and what it can reveal, as well as exploring the impact of other relationships and systems on your life.

For me, therapy is an active, collaborative process. I don’t sit in silence, and I believe in a non-hierarchical approach: you are the expert on your life.

My experience

I have experience supporting survivors of rape, sexual abuse and other complex trauma, including developmental and relational trauma. Alongside my private practice, I work as a Counsellor at a specialist sexual abuse organisation in Bristol, and was previously a Listening Volunteer with the Samaritans.

Before training as a counsellor, I spent over a decade in the corporate world, including managing and mentoring teams. That background gives me a grounded, first-hand understanding of workplace pressures, and I have experience supporting clients navigating burnout, redundancy, workplace issues, self-doubt and career transitions.

I also work with people experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD and neurodiversity (including those awaiting diagnosis), relationship challenges, bereavement, loneliness and shame.
